About Infotec Corporate History
The Infotec brand was first established in 1972 to meet a demand for high quality, high performance office equipment. Over the years, the European product range – largely manufactured by Ricoh - was developed from liquid toner copiers and thermal fax, to the advanced black-and-white and full colour multi-function devices available today.
In the 1990s, Danka acquired Infotec and then Kodak Office Imaging. The amalgamation of these businesses provided many customer advantages, not least of which was access to the high-volume expertise of the Kodak operation.
Ricoh has been a long term partner of Infotec. It has for many years manufactured products under the Infotec badge. The partnership was recently cemented with the acquisition of the group’s European operation by Ricoh Europe B.V. Revenue from this operation totalled over €430 million in 2006.
Ricoh is one of the leading global manufacturers of digital multi-function devices and imaging solutions. Its worldwide sales grew in 2006 by 5.6% to €13.9 billion. Its European business accounted for €3.15 billion or 22.7% of the company’s global revenues in 2006.
Infotec, with its unparalleled heritage, long-standing customer relationships and over 2,900 dedicated employees across Europe, will trade as a significant standalone business within the Ricoh Family Group. The relationship brings access to new resource, products and solutions, which can only improve and extend the service we provide to our customers.
